Cave Point @ Bruce Peninsula National Park

Backpacking trip to Bruce Peninsula National Park… My friend Tom and I hiked and climbed over large boulders and along the rocky shoreline from the campsite at Stormhaven to Cave Point. We had the intention of climbing up into the large caves, but were stopped at the base of the caves, as we faced a 25 ft wall with no climbing gear. We went as far as we could go on foot before boulders and the rocky shoreline disappeared into the water at the base of the caves. Was a really neato day hike though and was very much worth the effort.

Hiking the 2.7 mile Cascade Lake Loop in Moran State Park on Orcas Island, largest of the San Juan Islands in the NW of Washington State. Remember to go counter clockwise, or else you’d need climbing gear to get up the hills your supposed to walk down.

Operation First Response will present its third annual Pennsylvania Walk for the Wounded Saturday, May 22 in Rose Tree Park. Walks in years past have been emotionally charged events, as active military and veterans meet and mingle with people from all over the Delaware Valley who come to walk in support of the nation’s seriously wounded soldiers.
