Shinbone, Alabama. Marty Stuart ~ High On A Mountaintop
Our beloved party spot has been trampled upon by sport climbers, never to be wilderness again. Used to be nice to own this place for the weekend. Remember: Top of the World, The Ledge, The Rooftop, Kevin’s Preacher Seat, The Bridge, The Carved Grave Marker in the cave, the Hot Tub, etc. Now, all you hear is clanking climbing gear, and see tents everywhere. The only time I recall sharing the place was with the Bikers who were all strung out on downers.

One of my fav’s of Marty’s ….hot damn! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful video, I’m an ol’ timer and I hate to see nature defaced by kid’s graffiti, but in the long run, nature will cleanse itself, the rocks will be pure again… but the main thing is that the young people were out there, enjoying nature, the rocks, trees. For at least one moment they were connected to what our ancestors saw. Not Ipads and computer crap, but real nature that you can touch and smell and feel. Let the kids play, learn, enjoy, and someday they will respect all they have seen!
@aranelinya The State took over and are putting in campsites and facilities. Good and bad. At least the Rangers will keep the place orderly and clean.
Glad to hear the song….sorry to hear the story. Just attended my 35th class reunion and I ‘yearned’ for this song …..Thank you!!
